ヽ(´O`;MIRACLE (エモジ ミラクル)
"ヽ(´o`;Miracle" is a still life photography project by photographer Pietro Cocco and set designer Keiko Hudson. The location of the first series is Tokyo, where the term “emoji” originated. Started in the summer of 2016, the project will be updated periodically as the two continue to shoot in different countries.
Props include both printed-out emoji and actual objects that inspired emoji design, combined with local objects such as grocery items set up in house interiors.
This project explores not only a simple uniqueness of still life but also the idea of communication and self-expression. It examines how “emoji“ became a form of communication that resonates globally, without language barriers. It also focuses on the paradox created by the use of a digital-born tool as a tangible object in the composition.
